Justine is a writer, film producer, and veteran arts nonprofit professional. She is currently Assistant to the Executive Director at Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA). Prior to BAMPFA she spent over a decade working in the independent documentary film space. She spent over six years as Executive Coordinator at leading public media funder, co-producer, and broadcaster ITVS. Prior to ITVS, Justine was an integral part of Telling Pictures, a media production company founded by Oscar-, Emmy-, and Peabody- award-winning filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. She has been credited as production assistant, assistant to the directors, production coordinator, and associate producer for eight short and feature documentary films including Independent Lens documentary Free for All: The Public Library (Associate Producer, PBS, 2025) and the Academy Award-nominated short documentary End Game (Assistant to the Directors, Netflix, 2019). She has written hours of audio description scripts for films and television for clients like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and major film festivals. Justine is passionate about social equity, criminal legal reform, prison abolishment, and supporting women of color in the arts. Justine has previously served on selection committees for the International Documentary Association Awards and grant review panels for the California Arts Council. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Love for our Elders and Good Neighbor Thrift. She also serves as Culture Editor for upcoming local newsletter Bay Area Current.
